The Tree House Child Advocacy Center for Montgomery County
Provides free trauma-focused therapy to children ages 2-18 who have experienced abuse and treatment for children ages 7-14 with problematic sexual behaviors. To qualify for trauma-focused therapy, the child’s clinical needs must be appropriate to the therapies offered, the abuse must have occurred in Montgomery County or the child must be a resident of Montgomery County, and in most cases the child must be insured through MD Medical Assistance, Care for Kids, or have no health insurance. To qualify for treatment for problematic sexual behaviors, the child’s clinical needs must be appropriate to the therapies offered. There are no financial qualifying factors at this time for the treatment of problematic sexual behaviors.

Montgomery County Trauma Services
Montgomery County residents who are survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence and their children, survivors of crimes including rape/sexual assault, homicide (surviving family and friends), physical assault, human trafficking, etc., offenders of intimate partner violence, survivor’s family, and significant others, and/or survivors of violence and crimes which were committed in Montgomery County. Clinical services are charged on a sliding scale based on their ability to pay. No one is denied services due to an inability to pay.

The SAFE Center’s mental health clinicians create a safe space for human trafficking survivors to share and process traumatic experiences. In addition to short-term services, our clinical staff provide crisis intervention and long-term services to address symptoms associated with complex trauma. We are experienced in working with clients experiencing PTSD, depression, dissociative disorders, anxiety disorders, and more.

The Center for Healthy Families provides couples and marital counseling, family therapy, and individual therapy to a diverse population. CHF clients may live anywhere in the Maryland/Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Fees are based on a sliding scale ranging from $15 to $120 per session based on a family’s income.

The goal of the counseling assistance program is to remove financial barriers and allow access to the specialized therapeutic treatment best suited to help individuals heal, families reconnect, and communities thrive. Change the Conversation partners with counseling professionals to provide hope and healing to those in need. Each counseling partner specializes in trauma-informed care for adults who experienced child sexual abuse and other complex trauma.
